Sr. Data Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Take a major role in design, development, deployment and maintenance of applications.
• Design, develop and support ETL processes.
• Working with extremely large datasets.
• Prepare and execute quality assurance processes to ensure data quality and integrity.
• Build out dynamic, high-volume applications using Java in an agile development methodology.
• Be able to wear many hats since this is a start up. You will have broad exposures and opportunities.
• Integrate with various third party systems.

Requirements:

• Amazing developer who takes no prisoners and is the master of all that is data.
  
• Experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining a data warehouse system.
  
• Must have ETL experience and a love for databases.
  
• Thrive in a fast-paced startup environment, and eager to learn new technologies as the need arises.
  
• Good communicator and be able to work with team.
  
• Highly self motivated, loves to innovate and is proactive.
  
• Desire to succeed and is extremely hard working.
  
• Experience with open source technologies and should have a track record of utilizing them in past projects.
  
• Have BS/MS in computer science or other technical skills.
  
• Have some years of experiences to prove that you can do the job.
  
  

Bonus Points:

• Worked with extremely large datasets.
  
• Strong database modeling and SQL skills, and experience in data minding and OLAP.
  
• Java and OO programming skills
  
• Experience in building out high traffic and high volume applications.
  
• Experience with Linux, Apache and Tomcat. And working experience in a clustered production environment is a big plus.
  
• Experience or have knowledge with technologies from all application layers, especially open source technologies.
  
• Be good with numbers. You will be working with analytic data a lot.
